As we all know, a woman’s purse is a secret haven. It seems like women store everything that one could possibly need within the hidden walls of their purse. Whether it’s a Band-Aid, brush, the perfect lip gloss, or a snack, women have what they need at all times.
In my purse, I carry my basic necessities. I always have to have a good chapstick and lip gloss. Today I was carrying several types! It’s an absolute must for me to carry around my comb, if you know me — you know my hair is pretty much always perfectly in place. That wouldn’t be possible if I didn’t touch it up every now and then throughout the day! During these cold months (yes it’s still a little chilly sometimes here in Oxford, yes I know it’s almost May) it’s also essential to moisturize! I choose to moisturize my hands with Lubriderm Advanced Therapy Lotion, it’s non-greasy and smells good too! And for whenever the sun does decide to come out, I’m prepared to block the sun with my Tory Burch Aviators, and protect my neck from sweat with this fun cheetah print hair tie.
What’s in my purse:
Lubriderm Advanced Therapy Lotion
Cheetah hair tie
Brown hair clip
Keys with Smathers and Branson “Parsons Stripe Needlepoint Key Fob” key chain
EOS Smooth Sphere Lip Balm in ‘Sweet Mint’
Clinique Long Last Gloss Longtemps in ‘Clearly Pink’
Blistex Five Star Lip Protection chapstick
Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip color Balm in ‘Volumptuous Violet’
Marc Jacobs Daisy Roll-on perfume
Tory Burch Aviators from her Spring 2013 collection
Tory Burch Wallet in Brown from several seasons ago
Marc by Marc Jacobs ‘Classic Q Wingman’ wristlet in ‘Cinnamon stick’
These are my favorite products for my eyelashes! I think long, luscious eyelashes are the perfect look for any woman. Beautiful lashes can make your eyes pop and can create a romantic feel to any look!
Recently, this past month, I had a makeup appointment (at Versi Salon in San Antonio, Texas) and my makeup artist showed me these amazing products. I immediately bought them after my appointment and my lashes have never looked so great!
The top product is the Blinc Eyebrow Mousse in ‘Medium Blonde.’ At first I went into panic mode when I saw “eyebrow mousse” and not “eyelash primer” like my makeup artist had told me. However, I was told that this eyebrows mousse can double as an eyelash primer! He even recommended that I sleep in just the primer occasionally so that my eyelashes could grow longer and thicker! I also use this for what it’s meant to be (eyebrow mousse) and it makes my eyebrows look great!
The middle product is Clinique’s High Impact Mascara in Black. I have always used different brands, types, and colors of mascara. I never knew what kind I liked, whether it was a skinny brush, thick brush, curved brush, black, or brown! So many options, so many brands, and so many broken promises. I felt at loss when companies promised “clump-free lashes” or “no flake or fuss” and was constantly disappointed. However, after my friend recommended Clinique mascara, my lashes haven’t been the same! this mascara feels super light, doesn’t clump, and once I use my Blinc Eyebrow Mousse (aka my eyelash primer), my mascara doesn’t flake! I highly recommend this affordable and incredible mascara from Clinique.
This last product is my absolute favorite, the Blinc Heated Lash Curler. Before my makeup appointment, I had been having a lot of issues with my eyelashes and I was starting to become insecure. I used to curl my eyelashes with a regular eyelash curler, but I was starting to lose my eyelashes. There were noticeable spots where several eyelashes were missing, I had to spend extra time crossing my lashes to cover these embarrassing spots. I researched my issue on the Internet and decided that I should start taking Biotin pills (hair, skin, & nail growth pills). After a couple weeks and not much more improvement, I decided to talk to my makeup artist at Versi. He gave me this Blinc Heated Lash Curler. After he tested it on my lashes, I was convinced that this was exactly what I needed. What makes this eyelash curler so special is that it doesn’t crimp your lashes, eventually weakening your lashes. This heated lash curler only needs one battery and a flip of the “on” switch to prep your lashes into a beautiful wave.
I hope this post helps you! And I hope you buy these products, you truly won’t regret it!
What I love about makeup is that there’s always something new happening. Whether it’s a new color, new trend, or new product there’s always something fun and pretty happening in the makeup world. These are my recent favorite makeup items that I have been using.
Laura Mercier ‘Flawless Skin Repair Eye Serum.’ This eye serum is great because it improves the appearance of lines or wrinkles while at the same time brightening up your eyes! Also, the Arnica Extra and caffeine in this eye serum reduces the appearance of dark circles. All you need to use is the tiniest drop from the pump on each eye. I bought my first bottle of this eye serum last May and I use it all the time and there’s still plenty left! You can find this amazing eye serum at Sephora.com.
‘Erase Paste’ by Benefit Cosmetics. This concealer is great for under the eyes or any blemishes on your face. It brightens areas of your face while at the same time covering your areas of concern. Erase Paste comes in three different shades: fair, medium, and deep. This concealer is truly incredible. You can find Erase Paste at Sephora.com.
‘They’re Real!’ Mascara by Benefit Cosmetics. This mascara is amazing! this mascara lengthens, adds volumes, curls, lifts, and separates your lashes. My lashes instantly looked longer after using this mascara. Just trust me, you need this mascara. And you can find it at Sephora.com.
Chella Highlighter Pencil in ‘Ivory Lace.’ I received this highlighter pencil in my Birchbox and instantly fell in love. This highlighter brightens up your face and makes you glow. This pencil conceals, brightens, contours, shapes, lines, and defines your face. You can use it to brighten your brow bones, water lines, eye areas, nose, cheekbones, and Cupid’s bow. You can find this highlighter pencil at Birchbox.com.
