Happy #TasselTuesday everyone!

Although #TasselTuesday will not become a weekly hashtag for my blog, I felt like today it needed to be official. This year I have become somewhat infatuated with tassel jewelry. I just think they are so cute and fun! I have been keeping up with various jewelry lines who sell tassel jewelry but I have found that a lot of them are very pricey.

Finally, I found a jeweler who was selling her line at a boutique in my college town! I felt as though this was a sign, so I investigated. Lou.C. Jewelry was founded by Sarah Cox in Nashville, Tennessee. She has really cute, vibrant jewelry. In Oxford, Mississippi (my college town) you can find her jewelry at Katherine Beck (an adorable gift shop!!).

Here are some of the earrings that I am currently swooning over from Lou.C. Jewelry…

Lou.C. Jewelry

  • Turquoise tassel earrings with large sea green stones $58.00
  • Hot pink handmade tassels + crystal gem $50.00
  • 3.5″ turquoise tassels + blue stone $50.00
  • Orange tassels + turquoise stone $54.00
  • Druzy + purple tassels $55.00
  • Bright orange tassel earrings with hot pink chalcedony stones $50.00

These tassel earrings are so cute and, trust me, I’ve compared many other jewelers and have yet to find someone who has great prices like Lou.C. Jewelry!

My Favorite Wedges for Summer 2014

A great wedge is one of my favorite accessories during the summertime. You can change your casual summer dress from a  day outfit to a cute night outfit by dressing it up with a great pair of wedges! You can also wear a colorful top, white skinny jeans, and a pair of wedges for a dinner date.

I particularly like brown wedges (or neutral wedges) as you can tell from the picture below. But there are so many great neutral wedges that have a pop of color! For example, the ‘Emily 34 Aqua and Tan Platform Wedge Sandals from Lulu’s (#2). You can also experiment with several different types of wedges such as straw or cork.

In spirit of #FavoritesFriday, here are nine wedges that I think are fabulous for this summer…

Summer 2014 Must-Haves

Happy Memorial Day everyone! I would like to take a moment to sincerely thank those who serve and who have served our country. Thank you. We live in the home of the brave, because of the brave.

Summer is finally here, which means a few of my favorite things are back in season: sunnies, bright colored accessories and apparel, and open-toed shoes. Today’s post features just a few things that I have my eye on this summer.

summer 2014 favorites

  1. The ‘Crystal Blue & tahitian Teal Ditty’ Tote by Hayden Reis — $144. What I love about this tote is that it’s made out of Dacron Sailcloth which means it is virtually indestructible, incredibly lightweight, and water/sand resistant. This tote is also very big, which is great for when you go on vacation and need to carry bulky items such as beach towels. Hayden Reis totes come in a variety of sizes and colors also! And the best part (if you ask me) is that you can monogram it!! This tote has six interior pockets, one interior hanging zipper pocket, and a snap hook for your keys or a wristlet!
  2. Water Bottle from J.Crew — $19.50. What I love about this water bottle, besides the fact that it comes in my favorite color (turquoise) is the cute plastic design around the glass water bottle. This water bottle is also dishwasher safe! It’s important to carry a water bottle when you’re out in the sun so that you can stay hydrated, so why not stay hydrated in style!
  3. ‘Aviator Full Color’ Sunglasses with tortoise frame, gold temples, and brown lens treatment from Ray Ban — $175. Okay, I am obsessed with these sunnies!! Recently I have been super into sunnies, there are so many new, funky, retro, and colorful sunnies that people are wearing this season! I have several pairs of Ray Ban sunglasses but I am dying for this pair. I believe that tortoise is always in style and that these sunnies are ready to wear year round!
  4. The ‘Happiness Bracelet’ from Hipanema — $128. The Hipanema Brazilian bracelets are to die for!! They come in so many vibrant, gorgeous colors! What I love about this bracelet is the gorgeous combination of pinks, oranges, and yellows and the different patterns within the bracelets. Another thing I love about the Hipanema bracelets are that it looks like you’re wearing numerous bracelets, but you’re really just wearing one! no more dealing with multiple bracelets sliding up and down your arm. The Hipanema ‘Happiness’ bracelet combines several different types of bracelets into one bracelet that is connected by a lovely gold clasp so that your bracelet is secure on your wrist. These bracelets are a great way to liven up an outfit!
  5. The ‘Nine Space For J.Crew Beach Towel’ from J.Crew — $76. You’re always going to need a good beach towel when you go on a summer vacation. This Nine Space for J.Crew beach tael is perfect for this summer! The pink and white striped beach towel is lined with fringe to add a unique, stylish touch to what would be an ordinary beach accessory.
  6. The ‘Slim’ Flip Flops in ‘Pool Green’ by Havaianas — $26. What I love about this flip flop is that it’s a simple, classic flip flop that’s affordable! These are the type of flip flops you’re going to want to buy in every color and print because they’re never going to go out of style. These flip flops are made in Brazil. They have a cushioned footbed with a textured rice pattern and rubber sole so that they provide extra comfort for those long walks on the beach! I’ve owned a pair of white Havaianas flip flops since I can’t even remember and they are fantastic! Now I’m ready to buy them in fun, bright colors!

I hope that you enjoy these summer accessories as much as I do! I also hope that everyone has a fun and safe Memorial Day!

Six Things Southern Sorority Girls Adore

As a senior at the University of Mississippi and a proud member of Kappa Kappa Gamma (Delta Rho chapter), I know a thing or two about the ins and outs and the dos and don’ts of sorority fashion in the South. Being a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life and I have made both lifelong memories and friends.

Now that we’ve addressed the cliché why-I-love-my-sorority-talk, check out some of the must-haves for sorority girls in the South!

6 Things Southern Sorority Girls Adore

  • The Lilly Pulitzer Jumbo Agenda (top left) — An absolute must in order to stay organized in college and plan all of your sorority social and philanthropy events! This agenda comes in many fun, colorful prints!
  • The iPhone cover in Kappa Kappa Gamma print…of course! (middle top row) — Keep your phone covered, safe, and cute!
  • Pearl stud earrings (top right) — These are my go-to earrings on a daily basis while going to school, and pretty much every other day too! They’re an absolute classic. These earrings are the Tiffany & Co. Signature Pearl Earrings.
  • Rent the Runway! — This dress here is the ‘Cheetah Crawl Dress’ Mark & James by Badgley Mischka (bottom left) — I somewhat recently discovered Rent the Runway and I think it is down right brilliant! Seriously people, this website is GOLDEN. Rent the Runway is fantastic for date parties, formals, and other social events where you wouldn’t be caught dead in the same dress. If you want to know more about Rent the Runway and how it works, read my blog post about Rent the Runway.
  • The Tory Burch ‘Jaden’ Tote (middle bottom row) — Well I don’t have this, but I sure would love to! Every girl needs a cute and colorful tote to carry their homework and textbooks in.
  • The Metal Script monogram Necklace from Moon and Lola (bottom right) — I found out about Moon and Lola while reading a magazine years ago, I have loved it ever since. I never really monogrammed many things before college, just my Jon Hart Luggage, a scarf, towels, and bedding…okay so maybe I monogrammed a couple of things. But when I started my freshman year at Ole Miss I was in awe of exactly how many things girls (and even boys!) were monogrammed. I mean you name it: key chains, bath curtains, rain jackets, sweatshirts, Nike shorts…the list goes on and on! I immediately followed suit and I haven’t stopped since. My mom always said I have the perfect initials for a monogram (MHE). I’m going to be in quite the predicament whenever I get married…oops.

I hope you love these, I know I do!
